Here is the short film I was a part of! Enjoy!! :)
I had my first “behind the scenes” job last year on the set of “Sure Shot”. It was an okay experience but I just felt more like a Production Assistant even though I was the Assistant Director. Everything was just crazy and there wasn’t a shot list even printed out. Everyone was running around crazy and not really paying attention to what they needed to. There wasn’t any set direction and they didn’t get all of the shots they wanted to by the end of the filming. I wasn’t very impressed with behind the camera work.
Then on Sunday was my 2nd Assistant Director job. This was a total different experience! I was in charge. I had the whole production at my disposal. The director was busy getting the correct shots but what I love about working with him is he lets suggestions in. He doesn’t say, “I’m the director and this is the way it’s going to go”. I gave many suggestions and he loved them all! He was even using them and they turned out amazing! Some shots I suggested were to make it more comical and other shots I suggested to make it look better or play off better for the other actor.
I also had the shot list AND the script in my hands at all times. I was the one that kept everything moving at a timely matter. I had the lines at my disposal when the actors forgot a line. I was even slating before each shot. I also became the assistant producer 2 weeks ago, since the last one had to move out to Los Angeles, CA on a last minute notice.
I had so much thrown at me, I got very stressed out. So the day before the shoot, I took the shot list and the script out to lunch with me. I sat there highlighting everything we were able to shoot yesterday. After I did that, I felt so much more relieved that I knew I had everything ready to go. I was very organized, the crew helped me out as much as they could with their other jobs they had to do. The cast took my direction and just went with it. I even taught one of the actresses how to fake making an espresso. I am also in charge of props and wardrobe so I have many jobs for this production. The best part about it? I am able to juggle it all.
I never would have thought I would enjoy behind the scenes work so much. So my jobs on set for this production are: Assistant Director, Assistant Producer, Prop Master, Production Assistant, Shot Coordinator, and Continuity Coordinator.
After reviewing the footage during out breaks, I just fell in love with it all! I LOVE the Canon 7D camera! It shoots with amazing quality plus you are able to take amazing stills with it. It would be great for my YouTube videos as well as small/feature films.
I have decided that as well as pursuing my acting dreams, I also want to become a director. I want to write, produce, and direct my own film. I am expanding my horizons within the entertainment business and want to do it all. I had such an amazing time and I am very excited to get these credits up on the IMDb! I can’t wait for the next shoot (the next 2 Sundays and then we are done)! It was amazing, I can’t wait to become my own director.
I love the entertainment business and I am very amazed at everything I am learning. I am very blessed to get the chance to work in this business. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.

What has been your fondest moment of 2010? Did you get married? Start a new relationship that just blossomed? Get Engaged? Chase after your dreams? Have a dream come true? Did you just let this year pass by you? Well as awful as this sounds.. my favorite memory of 2010 happened just recently actually. It wasn’t the fact that I went out to California and found out that’s where I NEED to be. It wasn’t the fact that I even got engaged! My fondest moment of 2010 was when my engagement broke off. It just disappeared from my life!
Now I’m sure you all are thinking…. “Andrew, have a heart” or “Andrew, she might read this!” I don’t really care. I have a heart! I just don’t have time for people that just run over it like I have no feelings. I have no time for people that don’t show me any respect as a person. That’s exactly what she did… she didn’t respect me or my feelings. She just.. left. Now I’m not here to dwell on that fact. I’m here to tell you that it opened my eyes to a whole new world.

I don’t need someone to be happy. There are other types of happiness out there. All of the chick flicks have successful people come back to their hometown and say the success means nothing without them. Maybe that is true.. but that’s true love. I don’t think I have felt it yet. I thought I did.. but the other person just shouldn’t be able to walk away without even shedding a tear… if it’s love that is. My world is open to endless opportunities now!
Where am I to go this year? Where can I move to? Where can I start my career? There is such potential in many cities as the film community grows! Florida has a GREAT film community but Louisiana has a booming community with many opportunities! New York City is the city that never sleeps and I fell in love with it when I visited 4 years ago… but Los Angeles still has my heart. I want to end up in Los Angeles sometime in my career. It doesn’t have to be this year but that’s my goal… to make it in Los Angeles!
I have many a women to kiss! Now that could mean on or off screen, you just have to wait to find out! I don’t plan on settling down anytime soon with getting married or even talk about it with anyone. I definitely don’t even know if I want kids.. and if I do - I’ll adopt if I get too old to have them myself. Kids are cute and everything but they aren’t for everyone.
I am living life in the fast lane this year. 2011 has much potential to be “my year” but I will make every year My Year! My time has come to shine! I might not be the next “Twilight movie star” but I hope to make a difference in someone’s life. Whether it’s to inspire them to become great at something or be a stepping stone to someone else’s career to make them shine. All I know for sure is that I’m taking 2011 by the horns and living my life! I’m doing what I can to make myself happy and to grow within my career, If you aren’t driving in the fast lane with me, you will get left in the dust. I’m not going to wait around for something to come my way… I’m going to go out there and get it myself!
Bring it on 2011! Bring. It. On!
